Algae Control
AQ-3 is a complete water treatment that is a mixture natural compounds to extract ammonia, nitrites, nitrates, phosphates and toxic chemicals from the water. Algae does not live without nutrients. Our blend of specially selected microbes in AQ-3 are added to drastically reduce the level of nutrients in the water and to eliminate the possibility of diseases from developing within the water.
Microbes are also used to digest organic material (such as dead algae, leaves etc…) to prevent rotting material from creating odors and more nutrients within the water. Other microbes target the excessive nitrates produced by decomposing matter and nitrate enriched waters from storm run off. The dead matter on the bottom of ponds and lakes is the major cause of the excessive nitrates which cause algae and odors.
Algae Control Naturally
Caution should be exercised in using AQ-3. Since it will remove the nitrates from water, if too much is used, all nitrates will be removed from the bottom of the water body, thereby starving the existing aquatic plant life..
Though in some cases it is best for a trained technician to evaluate the needs of your water and treatment necessary to maintain the control you desire, do it yourself treatment is possible. An inexpensive nitrate testing kit will save you time and money. It is best to check the nitrate level once a month Toxic water runoff or chemicals added within the last year, condition of the bottom and proper identification of species of algae are factors that must be continuously monitored.
Directions:
Environmentally friendly and safe to handle, AQ-3 posses no threat to you, your animals or non aquatic plants.
Apply 1 pound of AQ-3 per acre foot of water.
If there are any clumps, toss them as far out as possible. Toss the rest out into the water, distributing it evenly from the shoreline. Be sure the wind is blowing towards the water body as you sprinkle the fine powder into the water.
Another method is to dilute the AQ-3 into water and evenly pour amounts along the bank in which the wind is blowing toward the water body.
