Soil Testing
SOIL TESTS
We recommend a good soil test be done on any course whether new or old. We recommend this soil test be run by a private lab. We use a lab that analyses the soil based on its capacity. The heavier the soil the higher capacity to hold minerals. Initial test should be on each individual green. The tees can be tested in groups of 3 to 9 tees. Since the fairways are of natural soils, a separate test should be made for the different types of soil throughout the course. These soil tests are to determine the need of various minerals to balance the soils. With an imbalanced soil, a mineral may be physically present in excess and become
bonded to one ‘or more other minerals. These bonded minerals physically present are not available to the plants.
Once the soil is balanced, the addition of the Material Science microbial program is very helpful to break down fertilizer, minerals, digest thatch, and restrict the development of diseases. With fundamentals established, lets get into the actual application of the Microbial Program.
