INITIAL TREATMENT ON GREENS

New Golf Course or Turf:
Broadcast and disc in 5 to 10 lbs of MP-5 per acre. Use 10 lbs. on clay or sandy soils and graduate down to 5 lbs for the good loam soils. We recommend using the MP-4D seed coating added for any direct seeding of the course to improve germination.
Old Course
An initial treatment will consist of 1 to 2 pounds of GPN-2 per acre.
Should the course be in severe stress, lead in with 1 to 2 pounds of GPN-2 per acre to clean up the chemical residue. 2 to 3 weeks later apply another 1 pound per acre.
Under these stress conditions a high mortality of microbes can be experienced due to chemical residue. The chemicals take a heavy toll on the microbial population.
FOLLOW UP TREATMENTS – GREENS
In Southeastern US A:
Beginning May 1 through Sept 30 apply 1 pound per acre of GPN-2 each month. Each area of the country has its danger period for diseases. This treatment is necessary during this period due to the heat and humidity stimulating the activity. of the Pythium fungi, Fusarium, Brown Patch and Dollar Spot. lt is important to maintain a high population of microbes on and near the surface to prevent these fungi from multiplying. The treatments can be reduced if cool weather exists in September.
From Oct. 1 to April 1st,1/2 pound of GPN-2 per acre should be adequate to prevent winter Brown Spot. This winter program also reduces the length of time that the ground remains frozen.
