Fairways & Tees
FAIRWAYS AND TEES
Beautiful thick fairways can be maintained with a fall treatment using 1/2 pound of GPN-2 per acre. The spring application consists of 1 pound ofGPN-2 sprayed onto the soil. A summer application on light sandy soils of one half of the GPN-2 applied in mid June and August would provide useful benefits. By reducing nitrogen on the fairways by as much as 50%, a lot of money can be saved in fertilizer and mowing and still enhance the beauty of the fairways.
CAUTION: Heavy nitrogen causes accumulation of sub-soil thatch on fairways and tees which harbors insects and diseases and restricts root development and moisture penetration. High nitrogen levels also allows excess nitrogen to runoff into your ponds and lakes causing algae and aquatic growth. Reduce fertilizer to one “hub” of the recommended rates. Microbes convert fertilizer to a very readily source of nutrients for the plants as well as storing the fertilizer in their bodies for a time release effect.
We do have available an organic fertilizer that we highly recommend for your greens and tees. We also market biological control for insects, worms and larva in the soil. These are completely safe for man and animals.
Care should be taken to watch for any outbreak of fungus, disease or insects and use chemicals immediately in the affective area.
